Floridians love their crabs every which way—cakes, legs, soups, soft shells, the list goes on. However you can imagine it, they can serve it. Casual St. Augustine restaurant The Reef (904.824.8008) offers ocean views and crab leg specials on Tuesday nights; you can even order them for Sunday brunch. At the nearby Beech Street Grill (904.277.3662), a daily blackboard highlights the day’s freshest selections—you can pretty much count on crab making an appearance. Located on the south bank of the St. John’s river in nearby Jacksonville, Chart House Restaurant (904.298.3353) mixes things up a bit. The crab, avocado and mango stack is tossed in remoulade and served with alternating layers of jumbo lump crabmeat, fresh avocado and mango—delicious!
